Production process of oats

After harvesting, the oat grain is first washed and stripped of the husk, as these outer bracts of the grain are not edible. Then the grains are heated and cut into pieces. The cut pieces are then put together to form the oatmeal.

Oatmeal comes from the oat plant (Avena sativa). The plant grows to about 1.2 meters in height. Oats are native to Southeastern Europe and Southeast Asia and it is a grain, which has been cultivated since 7000 BC. Oatmeal is high in carbohydrates and protein and is therefore a commonly used product in the preparation of breakfast.
