The clove tree originally grows on the Moluccas. About two-thirds of all cloves in Indonesia are still harvested.
Production process Cloves
Harvesting the cloves is a huge chore. Someone climbs into the bean and manually picks all the flower buds that have not yet been opened. Downstairs, the harvest is sorted even better and then the buds are spread out and dried in the tropical sun.
Healthy product properties and applications
Cloves have a warm winter taste both whole and ground and therefore fits very well in spicy hot drinks such as mulled wine, Turkish coffee and winter tea.
